So this is the little boy that thought he would scare his parents when he was a mere nine days old and quit breathing. Twice. Our hearts were in limbo for six days while he was in the NICU fighting an unknown battle. He pulled through, and when we were packing up, I remember the nurses being so happy because they told us based on how he was when he first got there, they were pretty sure we were gonna lose him. A few short months later, he was hospitalized for RSV. After that, he quit breathing one time again at home. Time to lay the smack down.He is grounded until he's 23. He certainly taught his parents that babies are a gift and to treasure that blessing. I still get teary-eyed thinking of how very close we were to losing him. There were so many things that could have gone differently, that I won't get in to here, but let's just say it's nothing short of a miracle that he's here today.
He makes us laugh everyday. He's so fetchin' stubborn. He has to have things "just so". He's very picky about how his socks get put on. The majority of my morning is spent fixing his socks and shoes because, according to him, they're "CrAzY" . He's very outgoing. Once we were shoe shopping and he decided to adopt this other family. He followed them around the store and kept insisting the shoes the little girl picked out were ugly. Anything pink is considered ugly. He is addicted to chocolate milk. We buy Nesquik in bulk and go through six gallons of milk a week. He's such a talker. My favorite is any story that involves the words "already" and "binoculars". Those can be hard to come by, but HILARIOUS! He says "oh-dee-ready" and "by-knock-u-layders". Oh, he's the bestest.

I finally put your blog on my list so I can keep up with you. So far I love reading your stuff. You are hilarious and your blog is adorable! So I noticed you tagged me in 5 favorite things-great idea. Also, sadly, I do not have a fun grocery store nightmare with 30 bottles of marinade going everywhere-but I will try harder. I am also going to copy your I believe idea and then I will tag some friends. Let me know if there are any family members that blog that I should be aware of. Thank you for the christmas card. It is perfect as usual and I can not believe how stinking adorable your boys are. I will not be doing cards this year. I think I got burned out from last year. sorry
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to know Logan. He is super cute as ever. And, I do remember those scary days with him. People didn't understand why I was so nervous about Myles being born during RSV season. Ahh, I love all your boys.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Oh man, 6 gallons of milk a week! We though we were bad with our 2 1/2. Good thing Ryan is a money bank! :)
What a cute kid. I've never heard any of those stories about him not breathing and in the hospital. I can't imagine how scary that would have been. What a nightmare for a parent!
ReplyDeleteKenzie is the same way with chocolate milk. She absolutely loves it. Hey, maybe you guys should get your own milk cow for your backyard. I can't believe that.........6 gallons a week!
Erin - What a sweet boy ... I have a little guy addicted to which way his socks are on, too! Where do they get that?!
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Sarah
You are so funny! I love to read your blog and see your darling family. I still can't believe we live like 2 miles or less from you guys! Are you up for games? We love to play and are looking for any excuse to get together to hang with friends. I love the story of the CTR ring. So precious!!
ReplyDeleteSweet little Logan - I remember when some of that was happening, I wondered how you still seemed (emphasis on seemed:) in any way sane, with all the worry. It's hard to think of much that is more terrifying then worrying about your child's health. It's so awesome to see him now as such a strong, healthy guy!
